about

Circular Logic
tracks recorded ca. 2000-2003 using a 4-track cassette recorder

Circular Logic (my seventh LP) returns to the all-instrumental format of the first five albums, also reviving the midi sequencer with which with many of the tracks were composed entirely. These 10 tracks were drawn from a collection of more than 60 such experiments, including many “miniatures” lasting 1-2 minutes. An earlier version of the album featuring a different track sequence was called “The Garden of Forking Paths.” "Infinity" is the most Steve Reich/Philip Glass-like piece I've tried and a likely endpoint of my experiments with the midi sequencer. The cover is a photograph of my brother, Joe Harris, taken by my father, Frank Harris, during the early seventies when Joe was an infant.

Some of the tracks appear on the soundtrack to my 30-minute animated film titled "The Cat's Pajamas," available on YouTube at www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnKQdK3ReCI
